Let's see, what did we do yesterday?
Oh yes, Ruth did not have a particularly restful night, so we were a bit more tired than we would have liked. She has been waking up for the day around 6:30 and when you consider that this is 5:30 in the homeland, this is a bit concerning. We decided that Richard would take the boys to the beach at 9:30 for an extended stay because we weren't sure we'd be able to make it 2x since we needed to also go buy shrimp for our shrimp boil. I stayed home with Ruth while she napped and once she woke up, we planned to head over to the beach as well. I did some laundry and cleaned up the kitchen and then laid in bed and read my book! And Ruth slept and slept and slept...a 3 hour nap! We finally made it to the beach around noon. In fact, we didn't get lunch eaten and to the afternoon naps until 2:30. Upon waking, we headed out to buy our shrimp - and we bought some bay scallops too. We got home and immediately started our shrimp boil while Ruth played with measuring cups, measuring spoons and a big bowl...they boys watched America's Funniest Home Videos...they think this show is hilarious. The shrimp, scallops, sausage, corn and potatoes were scrumptious and everyone went to bed tired and full of yummy food.
Ruth slept much better - woke up 1x to nurse (at 4:00am) and then slept until 7:15. Once again, they boys went to the beach while I stayed home with Ruth. We decided the boys would spend a shorter time at the beach and we'd make it a "Two Beach Day". Ruth only napped 1.5 hours, but this took her to 11:30 and the boys got home right after she woke up. We all got in the pool and played before lunch. Lunch was leftover hot dogs and hamburgers. Afternoon naps...the boys slept about 2 hours, Ruth slept only 1. I graded papers and Richard went to visit a realtor to see what properties are for sale...just out of curiosity and to satiate his need to gather information. He got home around 4:00 and we headed back to the beach. The boys love the beach and have no hesitation to run out into the waves. Luke is boogy boarding all by himself and they like to ride in the kayak (it was here at the house) with Richard. Ruth enjoys exploring the shells and seems to just be taking it all in. We got home, swam in the pool and got showered by 7:00 and had a dinner of leftover shrimp boil and leftover chicken spaghetti. We are now in the process of trying to ensure we eat all of the perishable food before we have to leave on Sunday.
We are trying not to think about the inevitable return to reality...at least it is summer!

Sounds like so much fun!!
Yes, yesterday was fun... I think our crab boil gets a little better each year. We had more than we could eat. Another good thing about yesterday is that I think I got all of my requisite pictures... boys playing with the trucks on our sand road... family picture for Christmas... and another round of Ruth with the dump truck! Good day overall (although Ruth gave us trouble during the night, but I will let Martha elaborate!)
