Ruth's Baptism

February 19th! We are happy that this date fell on a Saturday as this is the date of Luke's Baptism as well.  How special it is for Luke and Ruth to share this day.

As I've come to realize is the case with 3 children - getting ready for the day is chaotic!  So much to do to get to the church for our 10:30 Baptism. But, we did all manage to get bathed, dressed, fed, the cake picked up AND to arrive at the church early.  We were joined by Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle B, Great Aunt D, MawMaw, Uncle Richard, Aunt Kathy, Cousins Sharon and Miles, Jennifer, Bekah, Jarod, and Rachel, Bree and Jonathan, and Godparents Matt and Katherine.  Ruth was awake for the entire ceremony and did not cry once...not even when Father John poured water on her forehead.  She came away with two Baptism candles because Father John gave one to Luke and one to Paul to hold - they were very pleased.

Following the ceremony, we all met for Bar-B-Q and cake.  At this point, Ruth was ready for a nap, so she slept through lunch and visiting.  The cake was GREAT and nicely decorated.  I think I finished the rest of it throughout the next week...not good, but sooo good.  After lunch, Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle B and Great Aunt D came to the house to visit while all the children napped...Ruth took a LONG nap - later we would discover why...she spent the next week with a cold and cough.

Finally, we finished the day attending the basketball game.
